Turnouts

turnout policy

Effective March 1, 2024, all AHSRA turnouts must be submitted on the form below.

  • Be sure to complete all fields and include as much information as possible.
  • Please upload any doctor notes / vet notes.
  • When you submit the form, you will receive an email confirmation with your submission details.
  • You will receive a reply from the data secretary within 12 hours if fines or fees payment is required, the amount, and instructions to pay it. Payments must be made to the host committee by 5:00pm on the Saturday of the rodeo weekend. Failure to pay your fees and/or fines on time, you will be placed on the blacklist and be ineligible to compete until paid in full.

If you have any questions, please call Jamie Thorsteinson, Data Secretary at 403-740-3575.

Entry Fees – If you turnout after entries close, you must pay your entry fees.

Turnout Fines – Turnouts that are received less than 48 hours before the start of the first performance are subject to a fine of $60 per performance (this does not include vet / medical releases). Turnouts that are submitted more than 48 hours prior to start of rodeo are not subject to fines. A turnout for bereavement is still considered a turnout – all fees and fines apply.

Vet Release – A vet note must be provided by Wednesday at 5:00pm following the rodeo that you vetted out. The vet note must state that the horse could not compete.

Medical Release

Injury – You need a note to medical back in if it was an injury. A doctor’s note is required in order to return to competition.

Illness – If it was the flu or illness then you need a doctor’s note stating you were too ill to compete – these are due by 5 pm on Wednesday following the rodeo.

Refer to Section 3.11 (page 16) of the AHSRA Policies and Procedures Manual for turnout rules.

Another day in the books for Team Alberta at the Junior High National Finals Rodeo! 🇨🇦🤠Every night we think, “There can’t possibly be any more memories to make,” and then the next day proves us wrong. From the arena to the barns, volleyball, new friendships, and everything in between, these kids are making the most of every minute at the Lazy E. We’re so proud to watch them represent Alberta, and even prouder to see the smiles on their faces while they do it.Keep soaking it all in, Team Alberta. We’re cheering you on from back home!Want to follow the action? Catch every performance live on the Cowboy Channel Plus app.❤️🤍❤️ #TeamAlberta #JHNFR #AHSRA
This one is a little different. ❤️🇨🇦Rayelle Rose caught up with Keller Tye, who unfortunately had to medically withdraw from the Junior High National Finals after an accident at home before the trip to Oklahoma.Keller didn’t have much to say beyond the fact that he’s injured, and Rayelle kept things light as they talked. We’ve all been wondering how Keller has been doing, so we’re especially thankful that Rayelle took a few minutes to check in with him.Missing your National Finals is never easy, but if there’s one thing Team Alberta does well, it’s sticking together through the tough moments.Keller, we’re wishing you a speedy recovery. We know this wasn’t the week you had planned, but Team Alberta is behind you every step of the way.Hear it straight from Keller.❤️🤍❤️ #TeamAlberta #JHNFR #AHSRA
Next up is Quade Tye! 🇨🇦🤠Rayelle Rose caught up with our D2 bull rider to see how his Junior High National Finals experience has been going. We’ve been hearing the rumours… that these bulls might be bringing a little extra this week. Judging by Quade’s reaction, there just might be some truth to it! 😂🐂One thing’s for sure—Quade is ready to get back after it in Round 2, and Team Alberta will be cheering him on every step of the way.Hear it straight from Quade!Good luck in Round 2, Quade! ❤️🤍❤️#TeamAlberta #JHNFR #AHSRA
Next up is Kirby Richardson! 🇨🇦🤠Rayelle Rose caught up with Kirby to hear how her Junior High National Finals week has been going.Kirby admits her first round in the breakaway didn’t quite go the way she had hoped, but that’s rodeo. Her positive attitude hasn’t changed one bit—she’s having a great time at the Lazy E, enjoying the experience, and even the Oklahoma weather!Hear it straight from Kirby!Keep smiling, Kirby! Team Alberta is cheering you on all the way. ❤️🤍❤️#TeamAlberta #JHNFR #AHSRA
