The Alberta High School Rodeo Association (AHSRA) is a provincial organization that provides youth an opportunity to compete in rodeo while developing their leadership and mentorship skills.
D2 represents the central portion of the province, with rodeos typically being held between Highway 16 and Highway 1.Β
D1 has rodeos in the northern part of the province, typically from Highway 16 and north.
D1 rodeos are held in the southern part of the province, typically between Highway 1 and the Canada US Border.
The AHSRA operates as three (3) districts within the province for both the High School and Junior Divisions. Contestants can choose which district they rodeo in. Each district has their own executive directors that sit on the provincial board. Year end prizes are awarded within each district and 10-12 contestants from each district qualify for the provincial finals.

In 2022 we celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Alberta High School Rodeo. Read more about the rich history of our association in this interactive brochure.
