Qualifying for Nationals is a huge accomplishment—and something to be proud of. It also comes with a new level of commitment for both contestants and families.
Here’s what you need to know before making the decision to go:
Nationals is a 7–10 day commitment that includes travel, competition, and time away from home and work. It requires planning ahead and being prepared for a full experience—not just a weekend event.
2026 National High School Finals Rodeo
July 19-25, 2026
Sandhills Global Event Center, Lincoln, NE
Expenses vary, but families should be prepared for:
👉 Most families spend $3,000–$10,000+, depending on location and setup.
See the 2026 Pricing Sheet for a summary of camping, stalling, jackpot, golf cart and ticket prices.
Take time to:
There’s no one “right way”—just what’s right for you.
Nationals is an incredible opportunity—but it’s also a commitment.
Go in prepared, ask questions, and lean on the rodeo community for support.
If you need help, reach out—we’re here to guide you.
Congratulations to everyone who has qualified and made the decision to go to Nationals. The first thing to do is visit the rodeo office and pick up your contestant packet. The following steps must be completed before you leave on Sunday:
Complete the Stalling Form in your contestant packet.
Complete the Camping Form in your contestant packet.
On your camping form, indicate your site preference. However, the host committee has advised that power and water sites will be prioritized for contestants travelling with horses. Roughstock and shooting contestants will be assigned to dry camping first.
In the event that more than 37 sites are requested, the facility has secured two campgrounds near the grounds for overflow. These will be shared with our families if needed.
If you need to add/or cancel any stalls or camping, please contact the Provincial Secretary.
Qualifier Jackets may be purchased by anyone who finished 1st – 4th. Rolled up contestants may purchase a jacket only if they are attending Nationals.
Order forms must be filled out and paid on Sunday.
Once these steps are completed, you’re all signed up for Nationals.

Next up is Dane Corbiell! 🇨🇦🎯
Rayelle Rose caught up with one of Team Alberta’s Junior High National Finals light rifle qualifiers to hear how his week has been going.
Despite the Oklahoma heat, Dane put together an impressive performance, finishing just one shot away from the short go. He also finished as the highest-ranking Canadian in the light rifle competition—an accomplishment he should be incredibly proud of.
Great shooting, Dane! Team Alberta is cheering you on.

It’s Chesney Hegedys’ turn! 🇨🇦🤠
Rayelle Rose caught up with Chesney to hear how her Junior High National Finals experience has been going so far.
Chesney shares a little about her barrel racing, but one thing shines through more than anything else—she’s simply happy to be at the Lazy E, enjoying the experience with her horse and making memories that will last a lifetime.
That’s what Nationals is all about.
Keep it up, Chesney! Team Alberta is cheering you on every step of the way.

Our Team Alberta interview series continues! 🇨🇦🤠
This time, Rayelle Rose is catching up with Lexie after a breakaway run she’s pretty excited about!
Now, we can’t control what our neighbours decide to do… and apparently they decided the middle of an interview was the perfect time to fire up a generator. 😂 So if the audio gets a little interesting, we hope you’ll stick with it—the captions have you covered!
A huge thank you to Rayelle for taking the time to catch up with our Team Alberta athletes and keep everyone back home in the loop. She’s here on big sister duty during the Junior Finals as a high school competitor, taking time between cheering on her little sister Ruby to help us out, and we truly appreciate it.
Hear it straight from Lexie!

Day 4 at the Junior High National Finals Rodeo is in the books for Team Alberta! 🇨🇦🤠
After a fun evening at Cowboy Ball, where our contestants cleaned up pretty well and enjoyed a night together away from the arena, it was back to business today.
The day brought another round of competition, with plenty of grit, determination, and perseverance on display. Some events went exactly as planned, while others reminded us just how humbling rodeo can be. Through it all, Team Alberta continued to cheer each other on and represent our province with class.
When the competition wrapped up, the fun wasn’t over. Contestants hit the volleyball court for some friendly competition, proving Team Alberta knows how to have fun both in and out of the arena.
The memories being made at the Lazy E go far beyond the scoreboard, and we’re so proud of the way these young athletes continue to represent Alberta every step of the way.
Want to follow the action live? Catch every performance on the Cowboy Channel Plus app.
Keep making us proud, Team Alberta! ❤️🤍❤️
